I'm working right now on a project that will have a 10 ft long sofa....it's going to be amazing! Naturally, I will need a coffee table to go next to it, and it made me wonder if there is a rule on how long should a coffee table be in comparison to the sofa? Came to find out, there is a rule....imagine that!
So it appears that your coffee table should be at least half of the length of your sofa. The scale is key in making any space cohesive. Making sure your coffee table is at least half of the size of your sofa will ensure that the two pieces look great and belong together.
Now, with that said, most coffee tables are about 4 ft. and my 10 ft sofa will swallow that small of a table alive! Now what? No fear, there is an answer. Have 2 smaller tables, preferable square. Not sure why, but when you use 2 coffee tables, the square looks better, in my opinion.
Doesn't this look stunning, and so different?! I love it!
Now as far as how close should your table be next to the sofa? The general rule of thumb is to place the coffee table within about 14 inches to 18 inches from the sofa. That's close enough to reach for a magazine, but still offers plenty of legroom.
P.S. Do you like any furniture on these pictures????
Good news, it will all be available in AD Shop, soon. But if you want it now.....give me a call or send me a message and I can hook you up before my shop opens up.
Also, make sure you are on my email list because on the day of opening I will have a major sale for 24 hrs only!!! So, you wouldn't want to miss it!
Till next time,
Anya,
